The Guest Speaker, an Emeritus Professor of History and International Studies traced the process of seeking and pursuing peace via individuals, community, state, locally and globally. In his exposition, he went through the memory lane to elucidate what brought about conflict in the past with biblical perception and in the world at large. He stressed that there can only be an enduring peace with the intervention of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ into all situations. According to him, one way of establishing peace within nations and among nations would be to reduce the spending on war including the manufacturing and acquisition of arms, missiles, combat vehicles and sophisticated weapons. The spending on peace would then be substantially increased to take care of the expansion of education, the provision of qualitative and quantitative education, access to education, strengthening the rule of law and promotion of the rule of law and social justice. He also called for the elimination of hatred from the heart of man and the implanting of the desire for peace within oneself and with other people.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Academic & Research), Professor Oluwole Familoni represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as the Chairman of the occasion.
