Seke Somolu Professorial Chair in Electric Power Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.<\/p><p><strong>A. Role Description<\/strong><\/p><p>The occupant of the Engr. Seke Somolu Professorial Chair in Electric Power Engineering will be expected to:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.<\/li><li>Conduct research in specialized areas of Electric Power Engineering.<\/li><li>Organize public lectures and strengthen collaboration between industry and academia through the application of research findings.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>B. Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p><p>Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic excellence and intellectual merit in the field of Electric Power Engineering. Specifically, candidates must have:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A good first degree in a relevant field and a Ph.D. in Electric Power Engineering.<\/li><li>At least ten (10) years of teaching and research experience after appointment as Lecturer I in a university or comparable institution.<\/li><li>A minimum of three (3) years as Associate Professor or six (6) years as Senior Lecturer.<\/li><li>Sustained record of analytical and experimental research in Electric Power Engineering.<\/li><li>At least three (3) publications in IEEE Transactions related to Electric Power Engineering.<\/li><li>Attendance and presentations at a minimum of three (3) IEEE international conferences in the field.<\/li><li>Substantial scholarly publications \u00a0in reputable national and international journals.<\/li><li>Evidence of ability to supervise Master\u2019s and Doctoral students.<\/li><li>Academic leadership, administrative experience, ICT competence, and proven integrity.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>C. Remuneration<\/strong><\/p><p>The appointment attracts an enhanced salary package (CONUASS 7 plus 20% mark-up) and the following allowances:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Transport allowance<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Research allowance<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Journal allowance<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Learned society subscription allowance<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Local travel allowance<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Books and periodicals allowance<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Housing allowance<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Conferences\/lectures allowance<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>D. Tenure<\/strong><\/p><p>The appointment to the Professorial Chair shall be for a term of two (2) years. At the discretion of the Board of Trustees, the term may be extended for a further period not exceeding one (1) year.<\/p><p><strong>E.
