
The National Pension Commission (PenCom), under the leadership of its Director-General, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has reaffirmed its
partnership with the University of Lagos by organizing a specialized training programme for lecturers in the Department of Actuarial
Science and Insurance, Faculty of Management Sciences.
The training, held from Monday, 22nd to Wednesday, 24th September 2025 at PenCom’s Head Office in Abuja, aligns with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2018 between the Commission and the University.






As part of the capacity-building initiative, the following UNILAG lecturers participated in the programme:

The MoU provides for the continuous professional development of UNILAG lecturers in pension administration, the Contributory
Pension Scheme, and emerging trends in Nigeria’s pension industry. By equipping lecturers with up-to-date knowledge, the initiative
ensures that students benefit from enriched teaching and industry-relevant research.
This collaboration underscores UNILAG’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with regulatory institutions to enhance
academic programmes, drive innovation, and prepare graduates for leadership in the evolving world of work.
